Our inspiration for the season comes from the lively and picturesque town of Marbella, in the southern coastline of Spain, part of the Costa del Sol. Sandwiched between the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the verdant hills of the Sierra Blanca, it enjoys warm and sunny weather throughout the year.
In the older part of this historical town, is the Plaza de losNaranjos or the Orange Square which gets its name from the thick clusters of orange trees rising over the cobblestoned streets. Marbella also has several museums, one of them the famous Museo del Bonsai which houses the most beautiful collection of Bonsai plants in Europe and the largest collection of wild Olive trees possibly in the world.
The topography of the region, its foliage of fruit and flowering trees, the hues of glorious sunsets and its cosmopolitan yet historical atmosphere have stirred our imagination. A bright array of colors from coral to bougainvillea pink, lemon yellows to leafy greens are offset with neutral clay and sandy beiges to dramatic effect.
Our signature crisp artworks dictate the mood of the season. They appear in silhouetted avatars to evoke a colourful floral camouflaged landscape with a modern and graphic sensibility. Hand cut and thread edged silk organza petals and leaves are embellished over diaphanous tulles and twills – with hints of subtle sunlit shine filtering through the layered cutwork embroideries.
The silhouettes are holiday ready – perfect for sundowners and can be carried from day to dusk with an easy effervescent vibe. There is an offering of separates that can be interchanged to make a variety of coordinated sets, the dresses are feminine and strong, bomber jackets and fluid tops that are sheer and versatile.
This is a collection that is born of a wanderlust, innately resonating with the experiences that travel and exploration brings.
Marbella – we will see you in the summer of 2022 !
